Rajasthan with its diverse agro-climatic conditions, favors growing of a large number of horticulture crops like fruits, vegetables, root & tuber crops, spices, flowers and medicinal and aromatic plants. The strength of Rajasthan in respect of Horticulture crops.

  • First in Mehandi Production.

  • First position in Coriander production in india for the year (2008-09)

  • First in Isabgol production.

  • Second position in respect of Total Spices production after Andhra Pradesh for the year (2008-09)
  • Citrus fruits: Third in Mandarin (Oranges) production and the production of the best quality of Kinnow.

  • The Horticultural Development Programmes have been expanded form 21 districts to cover all 33 districts with the help of Agriculture Extension workers.

  • Encouragement is being given to make proper use of limited source water in view of its scarcity by installation of drip system and sprinkler sets.

  • Fruits orchards 4688, 3972 , 7507 , 10331 & 14350 hectares were established to during 2005-06, 2006-07, 2007-08, 2008-09, 2009-10 respectively.

  • Minikits and demonstrations are distributed to the cultivators through lottery system in view of keeping transparency.

  • To develop bee keeping in the state initiation was taken in the 97-98 & up to 2003-04 about 1416 farmers has been trained by the department and around 300 farmers are rearing bees in the state mainly in Bharatpur, S. Madhpur, Alwar, karauli, Bundi, Kota, Baran and ShriGanganagar district during 2007-08 production of honey was 2500 M.T.

  • Production of mushroom spawn to mushroom laboratory Durgapura Jaipur and Reni Bagh Kota.

  • Availability of mushroom spawn to mushroom growers @ Rs.50/Kg.

  • Cultivators are growing mainly plaurotus and Agaricus in the state
